学部４年生が中間発表を行いました / The fourth-year undergraduate students gave their midterm presentations.
9月26日、学部4年生の中間発表が行われました。
私たちの研究室からは6名が研究成果について発表しました。
練習の際に先輩方からいただいたアドバイスを取り入れ、自信を持って発表に臨めたのではないでしょうか。発表者の皆さんは緊張しつつも、しっかりと自分の研究を伝えることができていたと思います。
今回の発表を通して得られた気づきや改善点を、今後の研究活動に活かしていってほしいです。
On September 26th, the undergraduate fourth-year midterm presentations were held.
Six members from our lab presented their research findings.
By incorporating advice received from seniors during practice sessions, I believe everyone approached their presentations with confidence. Though nervous, I think all presenters effectively communicated their research.
I hope the insights and areas for improvement gained through these presentations will be applied to future research activities.

ゼミキャンプを行いました！/We held a seminar camp!
9月１日，2日に毎年恒例のゼミキャンプを行いました。
前期に研究を頑張った分のリフレッシュとして、建築見学やアクテビティを満喫しました！
とても充実した二日間になりました！後期の研究も頑張ります！
We held our annual seminar camp on September 1st and 2nd.
We enjoyed architectural tours and other activities to refresh ourselves after working hard on research in the first semester!
It was a very fulfilling two days! We look forward to working hard on our research in the second semester!

8月5日、6日、修士２年生の中間発表が行われました。
私たちの研究室からは9名が研究成果について発表しました。
練習の際に同級生、後輩たちからいただいたアドバイスを取り入れ、自信を持って発表に臨めたのではないでしょうか。発表者の皆さんは緊張しつつも、しっかりと自分の研究を伝えることができていたと思います。
残り半年頑張ってほしいものです。
On August 5th and 6th, the second-year master’s students gave their midterm presentations.
Nine members from our lab presented their research findings.
By incorporating advice received from classmates and juniors during practice sessions, I believe everyone was able to approach their presentations with confidence. Though nervous, I think all presenters effectively communicated their research.
I hope they apply the insights and areas for improvement gained from these presentations to their future research activities.
I wish them the best for the remaining six months.

松村秀一先生による第３回 特別講義がありました / Third Special Lecture by Prof. Shuichi Matsumura
8/2（金）の午後、松村秀一先生（神戸芸術工科大学学長）による特別講義の、第３回目が開講されました。４月から続いてきた講義の最終回。前回に引き続き、市営基町高層アパートの中央集会所で行われました。
今回は、先生の著書「ひらかれる建築ー『民主化』の作法（ちくま新書）」の内容をベースに、近代以降における建築の「民主化」の変遷について、３つの世代に分けてお話しいただきました。
工業化・マスプロダクションを通じて早く・多くの人に建築を届けることを目指した第一世代。近代化がもたらした環境破壊や効率主義から抜け出そうと、「ヴァナキュラー」や「システム」の概念が注目され、日本ではプレハブ住宅をはじめとする「箱の産業」が成長した第二世代。人口減少やライフスタイルの多様化を迎え、豊かな空間資源が残された21世紀に、建築の主題が「箱」から「場」へと移ってきた第三世代。
それぞれの世代における民主化のあり方を解説し、最後にはこれからの時代において建築をひらいていく「作法」について、先生のお考えを示してくださいました。
講義終了後には、参加者で基町高層アパートの屋上庭園を見学し、先生と学生の親睦もさらに深まりました。
修士のときに先生の著作を読み漁っていた私としては、先生から直接お話を伺えたことに感動しつつ、それを集中講義で受けられちゃう後輩たちがとても羨ましかったです笑。今回をきっかけに、生産・構法の世界にのめりこんじゃう学生が増えたらうれしいなあ。

Prof. Shuichi Matsumura, president of Kobe Design University delivered the third special lecture at Motomachi High-rise Apartments. The theme of this lecture was the “democratization of architecture” since modern times. In particular, the changes since 1960 were classified into three generations and explained.

叡智学園の学生が研究室訪問しに来てくれました！/The students from Eichi Academy came to visit the research lab!
大崎上島プロジェクトのご縁で、叡智学園の中高生8名が7月31日（木）に研究室を訪れてくれました！
Due to the connection with the Oosaki Kamijima Project, eight middle and high school students from Eichi Academy visited the laboratory on July 31 (Thursday)!
前半は、建築プログラムや研究室の紹介をしましたが、みんなとても興味をもって聞いてくれて、質問やリアクションもしっかりあって、とてもいい雰囲気で進みました。建築に興味がある子も多く、紹介しているこちらも楽しかったです！
In the first half, we introduced the architecture program and the laboratories, and everyone listened with great interest, asking questions and reacting actively, creating a very good atmosphere. Many of the kids are interested in architecture, and it was enjoyable for us to introduce it!
後半は、VR体験や施設見学へ。VRは初めてという子も多く、みんな楽しそうに体験してくれていました。
In the second half, we went for a VR experience and facility tour. Many of the kids were experiencing VR for the first time, and they all seemed to enjoy it.
構造系の実験棟では、木材に圧力をかけて強度を測る実験を一緒にやってみたり、たくさん質問をしてくれたりと、学ぶ姿勢がとても印象的でした。製図室では、学生が作ったプレゼンボードや模型だけでなく、空間の雰囲気や照明にも興味を持って見てくれていました。
In the structural experiment building, it was very impressive to see their eagerness to learn, as they participated in experiments to measure the strength of wood by applying pressure and asked a lot of questions. In the drawing room, they didn’t just look at the presentation boards and models created by the students, but also showed interest in the atmosphere and lighting of the space.
最後は「おもしろラボ」の見学へ。学生たちが手がけた改修の様子を見て、「すごい！」と盛り上がっていて、とても楽しんでくれていた様子が伝わってきました。
Finally, we visited the “Omoshiro Lab.” The students were excitedly discussing the renovations they worked on, and it was clear that they were having a great time.
みんなと少しずつ話す中で、それぞれに夢や「やってみたいこと」がたくさんあって、こちらも元気をもらえる時間になりました！
By talking little by little with everyone, I found that each person has many dreams and things they want to try, and it became a time that energizes me too!
今回の訪問が、将来の選択肢を広げるきっかけになってくれたら嬉しいです。またいつか、どこかでお会いできる日を楽しみにしています！
I hope this visit serves as an opportunity to widen our future options. I look forward to the day we can meet again, somewhere, sometime!

大崎上島町で「七夕祭」を行いました！/Tanabata Festival Held in Osakikamijima Town!
2025年7月6日に大崎上島町の木江旧警察官舎で短冊に願いを込め、みんなで流しそうめんをする「七夕祭」を当研究室主催で開催しました。
当日は暑い中でしたが、大崎上島町の町民の方が持ってきてくださった竹を使って流しそうめん台を作り、そうめんだけでなく、果物や野菜なども流して楽しみました！また、笹にみなさんの願い事を書いてもらった短冊をつるして、七夕を満喫しました！
大崎上島町の学生や日頃からお世話になっている町民の方などたくさんの方が来てくださり、とても素敵な時間を過ごさせていただきました！参加してくださった方々、流しそうめん台作りに協力してくださった方々、みなさん本当にありがとうございます！
これからも大崎上島町の木江旧警察官舎でさまざまなイベントを行う予定なので、興味のある方はぜひご参加ください！
On July 6, 2025, we held a Tanabata Festival at the former police station in Kinoe, Osakikamijima Town. Everyone wrote their wishes on colorful tanzaku and had fun sharing nagashi-somen together.
Despite the hot weather, we built a somen slide using bamboo kindly brought by local residents of Osakikamijima, and not only somen noodles but also fruits and vegetables were sent down the flowing stream!
We also decorated bamboo branches with tanzaku bearing everyone’s wishes, fully enjoying the spirit of Tanabata. Many people joined us — students from Osakikamijima and local residents who always support us — and it turned into a truly wonderful time. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated, and to those who helped build the nagashi somen slide!
We plan to host more events at the former Kinoe Police Station in the future, so if you’re interested, we would love for you to join us!

松村秀一先生による第２回 特別講義がありました / Second Special Lecture by Prof. Shuichi Matsumura
去る7/4(金)の午後、松村秀一先生（神戸芸術工科大学学長）による特別講義の、第２回目が開講されました。今回は大学の外へ飛び出し、戦後の広島を代表する建築である、市営基町高層アパートの中央集会所にて行われました。
前半ではまず、フランスの「建設家」ジャン・プルーヴェによる一連の活動についてお話しいただきました。1970～80年代におけるハイテクアーキテクチャへの影響や、’90年代のFMS (Flexible Manufacturing System)および、ものづくりが個人に開かれつつある近年の状況の可能性について伺いました。
後半では、ニコラス・J・ハブラーケンの提唱した「オープンビルディング」の思想について、日本における和室との関連も交えながら、お話しいただきました。
終了後は、先生と参加者による懇親会があり、大変楽しい時間を過ごしました。
次回は１か月後。早くも最終回となってしまいますが、とても楽しみです。
Prof. Shuichi Matsumura, president of Kobe Design University and a former professor at the Graduate School of the University of Tokyo, delivered the second special lecture at Motomachi High-rise Apartments. The theme of this lecture was a series of activities by Jean Prouvé and the Open Building proposed by N. J. Habraken.
