Today we had a regular meeting regarding the ongoing Osaki-kamishima renovation project. This time, we reviewed the previous camp and discussed the next activities.
Among them, there was an explanation of the guidelines for the intra-laboratory competition. Teams will be divided into teams to propose ideas in a competition format.
The posters made by the competition team are wonderful.
Let’s do our best. I wish you all the best and hope you come up with a wonderful proposal.
On Osakikamijima, a remote island in the Seto Inland Sea of Hiroshima Prefecture, a project to renovate a former police station building is gradually progressing. Mr. Nao Kono of Tsumiki Architects, a firm specializing in participatory renovation in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture, came to the Osakikamijima site. Mr. Kono gave us a variety of advice, which was very informative.
With an introduction from an alumnus of our laboratory, a renovation project is underway at the cafe PLUS GOOD DAY in Otake City, Hiroshima Prefecture.
This café, which originated as a community development activity by female members of Otake City, is an iconic spot for community development in Otake City. The building is a 70-year-old old private house.
From October to November, third-year undergraduate students will propose renovation projects in a class called Architecture Seminar II. We recently visited the café to conduct hearings and on-site surveys.
Now, we are looking forward to seeing what kind of project will be proposed.
