On Osakikamijima, a remote island in the Seto Inland Sea of Hiroshima Prefecture, a project to renovate a former police station building is gradually progressing. Mr. Nao Kono of Tsumiki Architects, a firm specializing in participatory renovation in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture, came to the Osakikamijima site. Mr. Kono gave us a variety of advice, which was very informative.
I am Nishioka, a fourth-year undergraduate student. The other day, I visited Miyoshi District Forestry Cooperative and observed a forest thinning site.
The actual logging and lumbering was very powerful, and I felt that the forest was brighter in the areas where the trees were cut.
I realized that I could get a lot of rich information by actually visiting the site.
I will make the most of this visit and do my best for my graduation design.
Thank you very much for the visit.
I visited Senkosya in Kita-ku, Okayama-prefecture. The company accept a lot of young people from abroad. I heard many new ideas about how to create future leaders, which will deepen our thinking again.
I visited Ine Construction in Kasuya-cho, Kasuya-gun, Fukuoka Prefecture, to conduct a survey on the training of carpenters. In order to nurture the future building leaders, the company is working on a project of building a small hermitage to appoint young carpenters.
The other day, members of our laboratory visited Nagamoto Construction in Hatsukaichi. We were given a tour of the site of a wood processing plant that had been in progress for some time and had now been completed. We hope to further deepen the relationship between the construction company and our laboratory.
I recently visited Osakigamijima to inspect a renovation project that will begin as a seminar activity and to greet my research. This was my first visit to Osakigamijima, and everyone I met on the island was very kind and warm.
